Welcome to the 12th Avenue Initiative!
This is a newly created blog about 12th Avenue in Capitol Hill and the Central Area in Seattle. It is intended to be a gathering place and resource for community members interested in the livlihood of 12th Avenue.
In 2008, Capitol Hill Housing (www.capitolhillhousing.org ) received a grant from the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development and Impact Capital to focus on 12th, from approximatley E John to E Yesler Way. This Initiative has several goals on the corridor: ensuring affordability of residential and commercial space; anchoring small businesses; strengthening community involvement; and improving the pedestrian environment.
This blog is one of the many ways we hope to reach out to and engage community members in 12th Avenue ongoings. Be on the lookout for more information soon!
